My Fave Filipino Architect
September 20, 2007Francisco 'Bobby' Mañosa is one of the Filipino architects that, I say and everybody will agree, made a mark in Philippine architecture. Second to Leandro Locsin, he designed lots of buildings and structures that we should be proud of. I even like his concept in designing - very Filipino.
This is the Pearl Farm Resort in Davao. It has the tribal ethnic characteristics of the Maranao and Samal. This incorporated crafts of Mindanao.
The Amanpulo Resort in Palawan. It has a native village-like concept.
This is one GREAT design. I'm glad I've been to Coconut Palace and check the whole design plus the interiors of this structure. This was built during Pres. Marcos' time. The concept of this is the salakot. Most of the materials used is the coconut. You should see this place and appreciate how great our own architecture is.
