"When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back.” - Paulo Coelho

My cup of coffee is empty.
Don't even have a cig lit.

Better Together

August 15, 2009

Today is one of my friend’s big day! To the most beautiful bride and her prince. I’m sooo happy for you. You’re better together.

‘Coz I love Jack Johnson’s song…

There’s no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing
But I can try for your heart,
our dreams, and they are made out of real things
like a shoebox of photographs
with sepia-toned loving
Love is the answer
at least for most of the questions in my heart, like
Why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it’s so hard?
It’s not always easy and
sometimes life can be deceiving
I’ll tell you one thing, it’s always better when we’re together

And all of these moments
just might find their way into my dreams tonight,
But I know that they’ll be gone
when the morning light sings
and brings new things
for tomorrow night you see
that they’ll be gone too,
too many things I have to do
But if all of these dreams might find their way
into my day to day scene
I’d be under the impression
i was somewhere in between
With only two,
Just me and you,
Not so many things we got to do
or places we got to be
We’ll sit beneath the mango tree, now,

Yeah It’s always better when we’re together
Mmmm, we’re somewhere in between together
Well, it’s always better when we’re together
Yeah, it’s always better when we’re together

I believe in memories
they look so, so pretty when I sleep
Hey now, and when I wake up,
you look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time,
There is no, no song I could sing
and there is no combination of words I could say
but I will still tell you one thing
We’re Better together

Si C’est Classique, C’est Chanel

August 6, 2009

Hé Dames! Si c’est classique, c’est Chanel. (Hey Ladies! If it’s classic, it’s Chanel.)

Call Me ‘Coco’

She is Gabrielle Chanel. She was a bar singer, (named her father) Coco.

Symbol of Success and Style

Thanks to her signature Chanel no. 5 - it’s Marilyn Monroe, Nicole Kidman, Keira Knightly’s scent. It’s women’s gratitude to  the’little black dress’, every woman’s must-have to look elegant and fab. Ladies adore her classic and timeless bags known for its chain strap.

Coco Avant Chanel

Audrey Tautou, a French actress, portrays Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel in the movie. The movie shows Coco as a girl from the orphanage, a cabaret singer, seamstress/couturier, a lover and a modern woman of her time.

Audrey Tautou is Coco Chanel in Coco before Chanel movie (showing in Singapore on 27 August 2009)

SHE

August 3, 2009

I remember one professor said that ’she is only a housewife’. Yes, she is. She humbly admits it. But see how this housewife and a mother did for millions of Filipinos. She is not ‘only a housewife’. She is a great wife; she is brave and she has a God. Never underestimate a housewife. See? Every Filipino will always remember President Corazon ‘Cory’ Aquino.

What more could a small voice say when everyone is paying tribute to her, when the world shouts how good she is and when churches deeply prays for her. I cannot share more since I was not around during the martial rule and was only a baby when she led Filipinos to fight for democracy. I can only say I will have her respect; a big ‘Thank You’ for the freedom and peace. I can say I’m proud to be a Filipino and a woman.
