Heroes in the Flood; Heroes of the Young Mob
October 10, 2009To the rescue - scene 1:
The article was written in Today Singapore newspaper on the 5th October. It states how positive typhoon victims are for being thankful, happy to be alive.
And read this: ‘And despite of the large-scale devastation, somesays Ketsana’s fury has renewed the ‘bayanihan’ spirit - that indominatable Filipino quality that helps them collectively conquer adversity.’
‘Scores of ordinary Filipinos, some of whom have never volunteered, flocked to help out in relief centres across th city.
To the rescue - scene 2:
Yes, teaching could be in the streets, too. It’s more than being in a comfortable classroom and with capable teacher, it’s the passion and the love to bring knowledge to children.

Giving a Statement
October 4, 2009Saw this statement all over friends’ Facebook. It’s been a week after the typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana). For the past days, we have seen how Filipinos help each other, how little help becomes big, how strong everyone is.
Thanks to those who believes that being a Filipino is something - not just by nationality. Very positive. A message which brings hope. Where I’m from, Everyone’s a hero. Heroes in their own families, heroes in their own cities and heroes in every stranger.
