"When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back.” - Paulo Coelho

From the Cat’s Eye?!

December 11, 2009

My photoblog looks plain and simple. This blog posted with happy snaps (not sure if you agree) don’t really need fancy colorful page. I think it’s just fine but I need an extra nice header. hhmmm…. I’m running out of ideas. And my journey to do-your-blog-page-creatively starts…or have started before but I was unbelievably busy again. :D

The design should also relate to what my blog name is. It’s weird and it doesn’t sound like a photoblog. And I wonder if who can relate to my story. :p

The Sun, Sea, Sand…

December 4, 2009

…plus the shore and sunset. I miss the beach and I will feel the Philippine waters soon… I heart it!!!

shore, sunset, shipwreck…

I only remember dipping into Indonesia’s beach only at thigh level months ago. Well, we opt to swim in the pool. That was also one of the good trips with friends. It’s all fun. Thanks to Mike for the wondeful shots and captured moments!

how about a group silhouette this time? :)

Motto: Be Prepared.

November 30, 2009

So many things happening in every part of the world, recently was the killings in Maguindanao.

Let me publish reflection from Didache for 29 November, Sunday:

A dead body lying in a grassy area near Mall of Asia was found by a street sweeper. He was wearing short pants with no shirt on; he was hogtied. A gunshot wound was found on his body. His body was already decaying, an indication that he had been dead for several days.

He was in the prime of his life. He was 37, an executive of a company, and he had a promising career. But in a snap, his life ended in a violent death. Reports said that this man had been receving several death threats.

The question is, “Was he prepared when death knocked on his door?”

Soul check, soul check.

Heroes in the Flood; Heroes of the Young Mob

October 10, 2009

To the rescue - scene 1:

The article was written in Today Singapore newspaper on the 5th October. It states how positive typhoon victims are for being thankful, happy to be alive.

And read this: ‘And despite of the large-scale devastation, somesays Ketsana’s fury has renewed the ‘bayanihan’ spirit - that indominatable Filipino quality that helps them collectively conquer adversity.’
‘Scores of ordinary Filipinos, some of whom have never volunteered, flocked to help out in relief centres across th city.

To the rescue - scene 2:

Yes, teaching could be in the streets, too.  It’s more than being in a comfortable classroom and with capable teacher, it’s the passion and the love to bring knowledge to children.

Giving a Statement

October 4, 2009

Saw this statement all over friends’ Facebook. It’s been a week after the typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana). For the past days, we have seen how Filipinos help each other, how little help becomes big, how strong everyone is.

Thanks to those who believes that being a Filipino is something - not just by nationality. Very positive. A message which brings hope. Where I’m from, Everyone’s a hero. Heroes in their own families, heroes in their own cities and heroes in every stranger.

If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded. - Maya Angelou
